Te Awamutu Rowing Club

We are a small club that over the years has achieved excellent results.  It is great to see our Te Awamutu rowers go on to represent New Zealand and achieve some of the highest achievements that rowing has to offer since to the club was established in 1963.

We offer rowing memberships to all levels of rowers – secondary school, club, representative and masters.

Our coaches and committee members are volunteers and do it for the passion of the sport.  Many hands make light work.  All rowers and their families are expected to assist with any fundraising the committee organises

Our committee is passionate about rowing.  We work tirelessly throughout the year to accumulate funds so that the club can offer the best gear to its rowers.

Unlike other clubs in the Waikato, we also manage two annual regattas – Te Awamutu Club Regatta and Te Awamutu Masters Regatta.  These regattas are supported by our sponsors and are well attended, with entry numbers increasing each year.  These regattas are held in October and April respectively.  Rowers haved enjoyed attending our regattas because we offer a relaxed environment where participation, good competition and fun is encouraged.  Visit our club calendar to find out when our next regatta is being held.

Rowing is great sport to be involved in during the summer and also the winter months.  It is one of the only sports requiring athletes to use almost all the major muscle groups, making it a great way to lose weight, develop strength and improve overall aerobic fitness.  Contact the Club today if you want to give it a go.
